New details are emerging about the tragic death of former Zappo’s CEO Tony Hsieh on November 27 from injuries he received in a house fire.

Recent articles in Forbes and The Wall Street Journal detailed Hsieh’s disturbing behavior in 2020, including substance abuse, self-starvation and oxygen deprivation.

Hsieh’s death at age 46 is a shocking and sad end to his extraordinary life. Despite his vast wealth, friends quoted in both articles say Hsieh seemed lost.
